Rockhaven was established in 1923 by psychiatric nurse Agnes Richards for women with “mild mental and nervous disorders.”  Rockhaven is a beautiful place full of remarkable stories.  Learn about the hopes for its future.

Detective Norris Stensland:

The Human Bloodhound

Norris Stensland was a member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department from the early 1920s until his retirement in 1951. During those three decades, he worked on many of the most sensational crimes in county history.  Presented by writer and historian, Joan RennerJoan has appeared on the TCM channel and in many of the Investigation Discovery channel’s programs on crime.

Evolution of the Los Angeles Skyline

Why did Los Angeles not have buildings taller than City Hall until the late 1960s? Why did LA skyscrapers have flat tops?  Why does downtown LA have “old” and “new” financial districts?  These and more questions will be answered by Dave McMenamin. A life-long native of Los Angeles, Dave has held many varied positions in his 35 year career.  Currently, he is Director of Education for Las Angelitas and works with the Los Angeles Conservancy, leading their Modern Skyline and Union Station tours.
